A Dining Experience with a Twist

The ambiance at Chili's is modern yet inviting, although some diners long for the warm, rustic decor reminiscent of an authentic Tex-Mex grill. Nonetheless, the cleanliness and organization of the space create a pleasant atmosphere. Its location in the busy mall proves useful, particularly for those seeking a late-night meal, as it remains open until midnight—a rarity in the area.

The service can sometimes feel scattered, as multiple servers tend to assist each table, leading to a slight lack of personalization. However, the friendliness of the staff often compensates for these small setbacks. It's wise to plan your visit during off-peak hours to minimize waiting times, especially for larger groups, as reservations are not available, and seating is prioritized based on attendance.

When reminiscing the greasy and satisfying American Tex Mex food while in KL, Chili's Grill and Bar is the safe place to come. Just like its American counterpart, Chili's in KL serves up juicy burgers and fries, steaks and mash, baja shrimp tacos, margaritas, fajitas, nachos, southwestern egg-rolls, cheese fries, enchiladas and so much more. The only disappointment here, is the fact that the bacon here is kosher, aka NO pork bacon, just the beef and there is no Patron margaritas here, but don't fret away yet, you still be able to yelp your life away with their classic margaritas. Their servers is friendly, however their system of service is disorganized and inefficient. There isn't one server who attends to the table like in the United States, its more like 3-4 different ones every time. Therefore the server lacks in attention when they serve the table, and this can be seen with the lack of refilling the drinks, the same food is brought to the table and also a lack of follow up on the table service. My personal favorite at Chilis is Fajitas, the RM 22.50 Oldtimer burger and the triple dipper for appetizers. The Oldtimer, which is their classic burger, gives me a sense of being back in the United States, having my burger and fries .The burger is a hand-seasoned beef patty seared to my liking. Topped with house-made garlic dill pickles, fresh leaf lettuce, tomato, sliced red onions & mustard. They tend to make a mistake with the done-ness of the burger, but overall the burger is quite tasty, and very filling. The tripple dipper appetizer RM 34.20, is great for sharing between 2-3 people, especial on a social night of eating or meeting friends. Three combination of their appetizer favorites can be combined in a platter. Choose between Chicken Crispers, Wings Over Buffalo, Southwestern Eggroll, Craft Burger Bites, or Spiced Breaded Onion Rings. The platter is served with fresh celery sticks and dipping sauces. The decor is a little too modern for my liking, and hardy resembles the tex-mex American look, I preferred their warm inviting decor they had in the past, it felt more like an american grill and bar, clasped with wood finishing, stained glass, taracota tiles, and a gentle dim lighting. The upside of their decor is that it is clean and neat. The restaurant is located at the mid valley megamall strip, right next to delicious , on the outer concourse, perfect for late night eating since it open till midnight. This is the place to come and eat if you are at mid valley late at night, when everything else is closed. There is no free-wifi here by the way.

Aaaaaah Chili's. The memories do take me to my legal drinking age days not 3 years ago. Ok 8, but who's counting? This is the place where in order for you to be able to order an alcoholic beverage they tend to check your ID. I still remember that fateful day when they finally asked for my ID and I whipped it out oh-so-excitedly with a big grin on my face. The bartender gave me a smirk and asked what I wanted. Ok here's what I said, "can I have something cheap but really, really strong!" not knowing I was a raging alcoholic even before I officially became one. He recommended the Margarita and I resumed my Bond Girl pose atop the barstool. Still sporting that silly little grin. Sigh. Memories... The place is a popular dinner and lunch spot especially during weekend and peak hours on the weekdays. Expect a line prior to dinner so its better to come early and have your name on the waiting list as soon as possible or avoid it altogether if possible. One thing that I've always not liked about Chili's is that they don't allow reservations to be made, and also the fact that more than half of your party has to show up (if you're on the waiting list) or they wont allow you to be seated. This could become a problem knowing how tardy Malaysians can be and it would immediately put you off when you're hungry. I suggest coming not on main eating times (lunch, dinners) for groups more than 4 friends and if you're alone of a couple, just grab a spot at the bar, it's just as good. Get your ID's ready kids.

Burgers, Margarita's and Steaks. You can find it all at Chili's Grill & Bar! From the first sight I would more imagine having such a dinner sitting somewhere outside in a fancy place and it is hard to have the same feeling when you are in the Mid Valley mall. However they still manage to keep their atmosphere really nice. Be prepared to pay around 30-60 RM for a steak and 27RM for quesadilas. Other than that, YUMMMMYYYY! :))
